Madonna's new single '4 Minutes' what we have all been waiting patiently for has been played on a radio station in France, and is now available in radio-rip quality. The song sounds amazing, and will definitely be a huge hit from her new album 'Hard Candy' hitting stores April 29th. Be sure to pick that up, and request the song on your local radio station- who knows, if someone already had it- they might as well!
Janet Jackson has been on a promo blitz this week, and after she performed on Good Morning America and TRL, she peformed her single 'Feedback' on Ellen today. I think it's great giving Feedback a major boost, because it only peaked at #51 on the Hot 100, although digital downloads have skyrocketed recently. It is currently #11 on iTunes, and rising fast. I believe it could actually peak in the top 40 on the Hot 100 before all is said and done, and I think that's great.
Timbaland is releasing a new album song by song for Verizon Wireless customers- which is rumored to feature artists such as Gwen Stefani, Linkin Park, Paramore, and Christina Aguilera. The first single is 'Get It Girl' which is a song sung by Keri Hilson and produced by Timbaland. It's a nice song and very Timbaland, but nothing extremely mindblowing. Download the single below and see what you think!
Usher is back with his new single 'Love In This Club' featuring Young Jeezy and in response to growing airplay on multiple formats on radio- the song has debuted at the top position on iTunes from digital download sales. This could mean a massive jump on the Hot 100 next week. 'Love In This Club' also throws 'Low' out of the top spot. Download the single below, and see if you think it deserves to be #1!

This months current banner features Kylie Minogue, and be sure to check out her current singles 'In My Arms', 'Wow', and 'All I See'! Ashanti is releasing her new single 'The Way That I Love You' from her new album which is coming out soon- and the song is very good. It's something I've missed from her lately, and it's a great ballad. The song is something that could bring her back to the top if promoted right, so hopefully the video and promotion for the single really help her out this time. Download the single below and see what you think!
The title of Madonna's forthcoming album will be Hard Candy, EW.com has learned exclusively. The record, her last studio effort for Warner Bros., includes a track called "Candy Store." Madonna chose to stick with the sweet theme because "She loves candy," says her longtime rep Liz Rosenberg. "It's about the juxtaposition of tough and sweetness, or as Madonna so eloquently expressed 'I'm gonna kick your ass, but it's going to make you feel good.'" The album, which features Justin Timberlake on multiple tracks and production by Pharrell Williams, Timbaland, and Nate "Danja" Hills, will see a U.S. release on April 29. The first single, "Four Minutes," will be out at the end of March.
Janet Jackson appeared on Good Morning America this morning and performed three songs- Feedback,That's The Way Love Goes, and Rock With U. Although 'Rock With U' was not shown in full on the broadcast, the full performance will be available on the GMA website later today. Also, be sure to catch Janet performing on TRL this afternoon as well as being in the studio for the entire show!
Feedback- LIVE on TRL!
Feedback- LIVE on Good Morning America!
That's The Way Love Goes- LIVE on Good Morning America!
Leona Lewis' first single in the US 'Bleeding Love' is already smashing it's way into the top 40 on Pop Radio, and all looks bright for her so far. The video has premiered and the song is rising the charts just like it did worldwide months before. The album is released in April, and here's a nice bonus track to download titled 'You Bring Me Down'. It's a nice song and look forward to the album release in April!
Kylie Minogue is releasing 'All I See' as the first single in the US from her 10th studio album 'X', and while the album version will be sent to Pop/Mainstream radio- a remix will be sent to Urban/Rhythmic radio featuring MIMS. I'm not quite sure about the remix, but the song is beautiful on it's own and is a good choice for a single in the US. If Kylie got a smash on Urban, I'd just die! It'd be so unexpected, that's for sure.
Ashlee's label have decided to push a new single to radio after the first single 'Outta My Head' failed to make any impact on radio or the Billboard charts. The new single features vocals from Tim Higgenson from the Plain White Tee's and it can be described as a pop/rock tinged ballad. It's really my favorite Ashlee song yet, and it should do well on radio if properly promoted. The new single is titled 'Little Miss Obsessive' and you can download the new single from Ashlee below!
The 2008 Brit Awards were held tonight and had performances by some of the hottest names in music today. Performances by Rihanna and the Klaxons doing an interesting version of 'Umbrella', Mika performing a melody of songs, Kylie Minogue ding her lastest hit single 'WOW', and Leona Lewis performing her smash single 'Bleeding Love'. There was also a performance of Amy Winehouse singing 'Love Is A Losing Game'. The performances were great- check'em out below!
Are you still working on Madonna's album?
Actually Madonna is finished. Me and Tim did four or five [songs] together. He also did three more with a new producer, Hannon, out of Virginia. Then Pharrell did the rest. So it’s like a Virginia-produced album. I’m actually kind of proud of that. Even though me and Tim and Pharrell didn’t work together, just for us to completely conquer an artist such as Madonna ... I’m good. Either way, whether we got a single or [Pharrell] got a single, Virginia got a [Madonna] single.
What was the vibe like?
She was cool. She had a dark sense of humor that I can’t explain. She might just say something crazy that you might feel is out of line. But it’s not. It’s just her sense of humor. She was in the studio chilling with us, being open and the whole nine. With any session when you don’t know somebody, the first session is the hardest. You gotta break the ice, but after that initial session, it was all good. Another person that I worked with, Mariah, was really cool and so down to earth. [I did] her new single that’s coming out with T-Pain, “Migrate.”
Linkin Park has had major success with their recent album Minutes To Midnight and all of the singles have been hits on multiple radio formats, especially What I've Done, and Shadow Of The Day. Thew new single might not be a huge hit, but it's a decent song from a great band. Be sure to pick up the album if you don't already own it!
Simple Plan are releasing 'Your Love Is A Lie' as their second single after the disappointing chart run of their first single 'When I'm Gone'. The single is decent enough to be a hit on Pop Radio- but will radio embrace it or dump it like the last single? In some parts of the song it's too reminiscent of 'Boulevard Of Broken Dreams' by Green Day for my taste. I hope they weren't trying to duplicate it because they failed miserably. Download the song below and see what you think about it.
Janet Jackson is releasing her highly anticipated new album Discipline on February 26th, and it's shaping up to be her best album since The Velvet Rope that was released a decade ago. Hopefully it will follow the same success on certain levels. A new titled 2nite has been posted, or a clip rather, on Janet-Love and it sounds amazing- classic Janet right there. Give it a listen below, and you can pre-order the album on iTunes now, or wait and buy the physical album on the 26th!
Britney's new single 'Break The Ice' is already gaining major airplay on some of the top radio stations in the country, and while we await Britney to shoot the video soon for the song, here is a hot remix for you guys. It's not known whether it's just a DJ's remix, or whether it's official, but it's definitely a hot remix. Thanks to mixaholic from the StarsVIP forums for sharing it, definitely hope the official remixes of the song are as hot as this or even better! My favorite remix this era for sure.
Kylie Minogue will release her new album 'X' physically in the US soon, but it is already available digitally on iTunes for purchase. It's an amazing album- so be sure to go out and purchase it anyway you can! The first single in Canada has been confirmed by Capital as 'All I See', the R&B/pop tinged ballad. It's my favorite song on the album, and I cannot wait to see the video when she releases it. It is not known whether this will also be the first US single since 'Wow' was confirmed before, but anything can change. Hopefully they will switch the US single to this.
Chrstina Aguilera recently gave birth to her new baby son which she named Max! The baby looks so cute on the cover of People magazine. Be sure to go out and buy yourself a copy. Christina has also been spotted working on, supposedly, a new album during her pregnancy to be released this year or the next. E! News also reported that in the People magazine issue seen to the left, that Christina will start recording her new album next month- so that probably means that we'll get a new album this fall. Look forward to see if she goes with a new sound, or sticks with what she's done lately. Hopefully a new image and sound, because honestly, I was a little bored with her "retro" 40's type styling. Hopefully she comes up with something fresh and new for the new album- although she's never disappointed. I would love to see an album with more rock influences and an edgier album from Christina- similar to Fighter. What do you think of artists posing with their children so early- do you think it's just publicity, or do you think these artists truly want to share their love for their children with the world?
Panic At The Disco have released their new video for their new single 'Nine In The Afternoon' on Rhapsody and other sources, and the video is very different. It's like Candyland meets Alice In Wonderland, meets the Nutcracker. It's strange but amazing at the same time- I can't wait to see this video in high quality! The single is blowing up on alternative radio and hopefully it will do the same on pop radio soon. View the video below and leave your comments on the video below!
Dolly Parton has released a new studio album, and her first in years, this month. This album is actually really good. I will most definitely pick this is up in the stores. She's a legend her music is still as good as it was all along- she can never do wrong. This album is a little more mainstream than her last two albums, and a little more diverse. I think this album will do wonders for her already splendid career. Download the album below and let me know what you think!
Britney and JIVE are releasing 'Break The Ice' as the official third single from her album 'Blackout'. The single isn't sent to radio until next week, but the song is already getting major airplay. It's currently sitting at #57 on Pop Radio before it's official adds date, and I'm thinking this could be Britney's biggest radio hit since Toxic hit airwaves in 2004 I believe. A DJ is claiming this is the new radio edit of the song, but nothing is confirmed yet- I like this version a lot better though. Download the new "radio edit" of the song below!
Ashlee Simpson is releasing her new album 'Bittersweet World' in April and the songs that we've heard from the album so far have all been great. 'Outta My Head', 'Boys', 'Murder' and now 'Rulebreaker' all sound different than what Ashlee has released before. It's a great song and I can even see this being a single in the future. Download the new song below, and be sure to comment on your opinion of the song as well in the comments section! Should be a great album from Ashlee!
The blog will be going on a one week hiatus, but will be back to posting next weekend with lots more stuff. I have classes and lots of school work until Wednesday, and then Wednesday morning I'm leaving to go to New York City with friends to see the Spice Girls, and will be in New York until Friday. Feel free to post things in the comments part of the blog if something comes up. Thanks for visiting the blog guys and I can't wait to get back to posting lots more next weekend!
After the news of Janet's second single being 'Rock With You', a new remix of 'Feedback' has been released that features Ciara. It's a great remix although it kind of takes away from the energy of the song. What kind of interests me is the fact that this years Grammy Awards theme seems to be younger music artists honouring older music artists. Could this mean the possibility of a Janet performance as a surprise even though it's been denied? I still think it's a possibility, but we'll see.
Janet's official website was updated today with information that she would be "taking over Times Square on February 26th" although it is unclear what they mean, I'll update on any future information. The other update was the streaming of two new songs on the Jukebox on the website. These two songs are miles better than anything she's released since All For You, and I'm having a feeling that this will be her strongest album since The Velvet Rope. These tracks are absolutely amazing.
UPDATE: 'Rock With U' is the OFFICIAL 2nd single. It will go for adds on Rhythmic Radio on February 11th, and has an adds date of February 26th on Pop Radio!
